Patrick Towles Shines at Pro Day

Patrick Towles at his Pro Day.
Former Highlands quarterback, Patrick Towles, had a nice day for himself yesterday at the Boston College Pro Day where he and his college teammates worked out in front of pro scouts.

According to the website, DraftAnalyst.com, Towles turned in some athletic testing numbers then looked good throwing the ball.

This is an advertisement.
"Towles measured 6047/241 pounds including a hand of 9.5 inches.  His vertical jump reached 33.5 inches, he touched 10-feet even in the broad then timed 4.59s in the forty.

Towles looked good throwing the ball, showing a strong and accurate arm.   Just a single pass he threw hit the ground.  After the workout Towles spent a significant amount of time with the New York Jets and Washington Redskins.

Towles is an intriguing quarterback prospect.  He offers next level measurables and arm strength but his tape is very inconsistent.  If he receives proper coaching and is given time to develop Towles could surprise at the next level."

If he continues to impress, it's possible he'll continue to move up the rankings. Over the last ten years, an average of 11.8 quarterbacks have been taken in the draft, which does not include college free agent signings by NFL teams.

WalterFootball, a highly respected NFL mock draft site, has Patrick as the number 19 ranked quarterback prospect.

DraftTek.com has Patrick has the number 31 rated quarterback.

NFLDraftScout.com currently has Patrick rated as the number 38 quarterback prospect in the draft.

We all know that whoever picks him up will get the consummate professional.
