Former Fort Thomas Restaurant Owner Charged With Taking Photos Of Girl Changing in Restroom

Boone County Detention Center. 
A former Fort Thomas restaurant owner has been charged with eight felony counts dealing with photos he allegedly took and uploaded to an online photo hosting site.

On Monday, May 15, 2017 at approximately 7:20 p.m. Boone County Sheriff’s investigators arrested Mark Fowler, 53 of the 1,100 block of Grindstone Court in Union, Kentucky, for taking nude photos of an unknowing juvenile girl while she changed clothes in a restroom and then uploading them to a SmugMug online account.

Fowler was charged with four counts of Promoting a sexual performance by a minor, a Class B felony and four counts of Possess/view of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor, a Class D felony.

Additionally, detectives served a search warrant on the premises and seized electronic media to be examined.

Fowler had previously owned the Mio's Pizza franchise located at 15 N. Fort Thomas Avenue. He closed the business unexpectedly in July 2013 after opening in March 2012.

Fowler was taken to the Boone County Detention Center where he was held in lieu of a $25,000 bond set by a judge this morning.
