The Amazing Race Comes to the Fort!

Ever wondered what it would be like to be a contestant on CBS’s The Amazing Race? Traveling around the world, with your partner at your side, participating in challenges, and making it to the various checkpoints?  Wonder no more.  Fort Thomas is set to end its fun-filled week with Fort Thomas’s own Amazing Race scavenger hunt.

The lucky 20 teams will join the race at the Mess Hall on Saturday, July 8, 2017.  Teams are required to arrive at 10:30 am for early registration and instructions.   The race begins at 11:00.  By the time the race concludes at 1 :00pm, the teams will have traveled across the city.

At the starting line, each team, made up of 2 - 4 members, receives a clue, which leads them to their first challenge located somewhere in Fort Thomas where each team will be met by a “captain” who will give the team an option to participate in one of the challenges.  Challenge types include physical, mental, endurance and food challenges.
Event is sponsored by Mint Yoga Studio.

In addition to the challenges, teams must solve clues and track down items for this 3-tiered Fort Thomas scavenger hunt. Teams will be provided with a list of items and locations around the city where they will pose for team selfies in order to earn additional points. Smart phones required.
Once a team completes all four challenges and taken as many scavenger hunt pictures as they can, they race their way back to the Mess Hall.  Upon completion, points will be calculated and awards given.  The three teams with the highest score will win gift baskets containing prizes that include adventure packages including many gifts from Fort Thomas businesses.

The Amazing Race is set to run from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and is sure to bring lots of smiles along with some friendly competition.  Grab a couple of friends, get together a group of teens or millennials or baby boomers, or participate with neighbors, friends, other members of the community.  Everyone is sure to enjoy this great event.
