Police: Drug-related Shooting Injures Two at Complex near NKU

A dog was also killed in the shooting, police say


A drug-related shooting left two injured and a dog dead in Highland Heights, police said.

Authorities were dispatched to Hidden Valley Drive near Northern Kentucky University on reports of a person shot. It happened around 6:15 p.m. Saturday.

When they arrived, they found Jax Schaible, 18, with at least one gunshot wound.


He was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center where he is in stable condition, police said.

Police said the suspect, Alan Ralls, 26, was located when he showed up to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Fort Thomas with gunshot wounds sometime later.

He was then flown by to UCMC in unknown condition.

Police said four other people were in the apartment at the time of the shooting, including a minor, with various levels of involvement.

Authorities said the drug-related shooting is still under investigation.
