Tom Browning Bought Bart's on York and That's Awesome

The former Cincinnati Reds pitcher known for throwing a perfect game in 1988 and sitting on a rooftop bar across from Wrigley Field in uniform during a game has bought a bar in Newport.

Tom Browning, also known as Mr. Perfect, has bought Bart's on York, located at 323 York St. at the foot of the Taylor Southgate Bridge that leads to the foot of Great American Ball Park and the U.S. Bank Arena.

1041 S. Fort Thomas Ave. This is an advertisement.

Bart's, which is a small, hole-in-the-wall, local bar told WLWT that he didn't want anything fancy, but just wanted a neighborhood bar.

Now he and his three sons are the owners.

Browning said that the bar, which has a view of Great American Ball Park, will have a big Reds presence.

The name is still Bart's on York, but Browning has registered Brownings on York, and will change the name on an unofficial holiday in Cincinnati: opening day.
