New Police Chief Kilgore Receives His Badge

Lauren Kilgore pins the chief of police badge on her husband Casey Kilgore as Mayor Haas looks on.

It’s official.

At the August meeting of the Fort Thomas City Council, Casey Kilgore, who took over as Fort Thomas police chief on August 1, received his chief of police badge.

As is custom, the chief’s family did the honors. His wife, Lauren, pinned on the badge accompanied by the Kilgore children.

Mayor Eric Haas congratulated Kilgore, who in turn thanked council and the community for their support. He also thanked his predecessor Mike Daly for his leadership, guidance and encouragement.

Chief Kilgore, who joined the department in 2000, is well-known in the Fort Thomas community. During the course of his career in the city he has served in a number of positions including detective, sergeant, lieutenant, field training officer, SWAT Team commander, media officer, and bike patrol officer.

In 2016 he was also named Grand Marshal for the 2016 Fourth of July parade.
