Obituary: Floyd "Bubs" Basham (September 11, 1927 - August 18, 2018)

Floyd (Bubs) Basham, 90, of Fort Thomas, passed away on August 18, 2018 at his home in Fort Thomas, KY.

Bubs graduated from Highlands High School where he excelled in football, basketball, baseball and bowling. Bubs also loved playing fast-pitch softball. Bubs was inducted into the Northern Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame in 1995 for fast-pitch softball.

Bubs worked in lumber all of his life, he was with the Weingartner Lumber Company, and Moore's Home Improvement, and he worked for Studer Residential Design for 15 years.

Bubs was one of the founders of the Highlands High School Boosters Club, and the Fort Thomas Junior Football League. Bubs was a member of the Fort Thomas Masonic Lodge # 808 F&AM, and a Navy Veteran.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Basham, his father, Floyd E. Basham, his brother Allen Basham, and a sister Carol Brown. Bubs is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Lois (Wasser) Basham, his daughter, Lori (Rick) Voss, and his brother Paul (Ann) Basham. Bubs is also survived by his granddaughters Brittany (Chris) Van Hoose, and Charlotte (Charlie) Duggan.

Visitation Sunday, August 26, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Christ Church United Church, 15 S. Fort Thomas Ave. in Fort Thomas, Celebration of Life Ceremony will follow at 4:00 PM Sunday at Christ Church. Dobbling, Muehlenkamp-Erschell serving the family.
