The historic restaurant located at 846 York Street, was known for its famous fish sandwich, liver and onions and pies. Patrons noticed a sign on its doors and message on its answering machine stating they are closed. Social media reports began surfacing last week that the restaurant had closed for good.
Fort Thomas Matters reached out to owner Michael Brauninger last Thursday, but he did not respond to questions.
The Brauningers purchased the business in March 2015.
UPDATE: 1:15 p.m.
The outgoing answering machine message has been changed, which signifies that the restaurant may reopen.
"Sorry, we are temporarily closed at this time. We are looking to reopen soon under new management and new ownership."
