An announcement about the Ovation Project in Newport is scheduled to happen this Thursday, May 9. The project, approved in November of last year, set this spring as a goal for breaking ground on the parking area. It is yet unknown what the announcement will be, but it is expected to provide new information on the first phase of the project.

Ovation is a one-billion-dollar mixed use development near the confluence of the Licking and Ohio rivers in Newport. The project will include residential space, a hotel, entertainment and a variety of commercial spaces.

Roofing, siding, gutters, painting.
With a potential for 6,700 jobs (5,000 permanent as well temporary trades jobs during construction), the annual economic impact for the city is expected to be 1.7 billion dollars.

The land where the proposed development would be was vacant for 13 years. Covington-based developer Corporex purchased the land in 2006, and describes the concept as a 25-acre, mixed-use development, according to their website.

In November of last year, developers said they expected to move first to create the parking area, breaking ground possibly this spring and expected the building might begin construction in November 2019.
