District Court Judge Cameron Blau addressed city council in February to urge adoption of the Uniform Residential Landlord-Tenant Act |
By Robin Gee, City Council Beat Editor
Landlords, tenants and others interested in learning more about the Uniform Residential Landlord-Tenant Act (URLTA) can come to an informational meeting on Wednesday, June 26, at 6 p.m. at the Fort Thomas city building. District Court Judge Cameron Blau will discuss the act and answer questions at the meeting that will be held in council chambers.
Blau said making the act uniform across all area municipalities will help landlords and tenant have a clear understanding of their rights and responsibilities no matter where they own property or rent in the region.
The URTLA is a useful tool that protects both landlords and tenants when a lease is not in effect or if a lease doesn’t cover certain areas of concern. It is fair, because it lays out clear protections and procedures for all, he said.
Mark your calendars for June 26, and see the URTLA event webpage for more information.
