New Mexican Restaurant Will Open in Former Ruby Tuesday in Cold Spring

In December of 2018 after nearly 16 years Ruby Tuesday, located at 5350 Alexandria Pike in Cold Spring, closed abruptly and permanently.

Opening in February of 2003, the casual chain with American fare, featuring burgers, a salad bar and cocktails was a casualty of a nationwide review of the restaurant's financial need to pull back.

The Maryville, Tennessee-dining chain closed at least 20 locations over the last year as part of a “routine review of our store portfolio,” the company said in a statement.

With construction now ongoing at that location, Fort Thomas Matters has learned that El Nopal mexican restaurant will open in that location.

A local chain based in Kentucky and Indiana, El Nopal has nearly 30 locations, including one in Florence, Kentucky on US-42.
