Huge traffic delays expected for region this afternoon

Heavy traffic delays are expected today around 5 p.m. due to a presidential visit to Cincinnati, but officials are staying tight-lipped about where the president will land and his route to U.S. Bank Arena.

With a sold-out concert at Riverbend and construction in and around the areas, public safety officials are advising travelers to keep off the interstate if at all possible.

Pres. Trump will be in town today for an event scheduled for 7 p.m. with doors opening at 4:00 p.m. Plan accordingly in the areas of the AA highway, I-275 and I-471, which could be shut down at unexpected times today.

“The interstates and overpasses can be shut down at anytime. No time line is given, but be prepared in your evening commute-such as picking up your kids from daycare, practices, going to games, work, home, concerts," noted officials from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

This is President Trump’s fourth rally in Cincinnati and his 29th rally in Ohio since he first began his race for president in 2015.

US Bank Arena has a listed capacity of 17,090.

Eastside drivers can expect heavy traffic on I-275 from I-471 to US-52. Kellogg will be congested in the area as well.

Commuters bypass Kellogg by taking Salem Road.
