Class of 2019 Highlands Athletic Hall of Fame: Megan Arnzen Krieg

Class of 2019

Megan Arnzen Krieg is a 1994 Highlands graduate and she earned an athletic & academic scholarship to play volleyball at Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky. She graduated from Georgetown in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications.

During her time at Highlands, Megan lettered in four sports:  volleyball, basketball, softball and swimming.  Megan earned a total of 14 Varsity letters and competed in the state tournament in each of those four sports.

Megan excelled on the HHS Volleyball team. She was recognized as the Birds’ most valuable player her junior and senior seasons. She also earned numerous local and state honors including: Region MVP, Region 5 Kill Leader, Famous Recipe All-Star, Northern Kentucky Athletic Conference Most Outstanding Player, KY Post Player of the Year, and Northern Kentucky Coaches Association Player of the Year.

Megan participated and lettered on the varsity basketball team for five seasons. Her senior year, she was named to the Region All-Tournament Team and was a member of the State Championship runner-up team. That 1993-1994 HHS Basketball team is also being inducted into the Highlands Athletic Hall of Fame this year as the Team of Distinction.

As a 4-year member of the HHS Softball team, Megan was an All-Region First Baseman. She earned both All-Conference and All-State Honorable Mention recognition.

Megan is a lifelong resident of Fort Thomas and lives with her husband Ed and their two children, Anna and Teddy.
