Picture This: A Photography and Metal Artisan Art Show and Sale This Saturday

Everyone one knows that it’s a short holiday shopping season this year. So kick it off with a visit to a wonderful art show and sale featuring two Fort Thomas artists.

Chris Stegner and Mike Shaefer will hold the Chris' Captures and Mike's Metals Exhibition and Sale  on November 9th, from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at the historic Headquarters Event Center in Newport on Monmouth Street, displaying their works. Light snacks, soft drinks, and beer and wine will be available to patrons in this free show.

You've seen Chris Stegner’s photos for years. His photo of the city water tower is iconic and his photos from this year’s Blink festival are equally outstanding. He will also feature more from his continuing series of abandoned places. They are haunting and beautiful. He has the ability to capture the spirit of his subject.

This year, Mike Shaefer, another Fort Thomas resident, will join Stegner’s show. Shaefer is a metal artisan making whimsical pieces from nuts and bolts as well some beautifully crafted metal flowers and knives.

Stegner says of Shaefer that “Not only is he creative, but he’s very particular and puts his heart and soul into every piece. Which is why I thought he’d be a great addition to me doing another show.”
