Fort Thomas residents create scrunchies business to help patients at Children’s Hospital

Don't look now, but a early 90s fashion trend may be coming back.

Leah and Natalie Macke, fourth grade students at St. Thomas School, started a business aptly named LNM Scrunchies.

The Macke twins, along with their parents, Greg and Melissa, have been hand-sewing scrunchies for the last several months.

The Mackes made 752 scrunchies and were able to raise $1,200 to purchase toys for patients at Children's Hospital, where Melissa works.

They utilized Facebook to sell their products, as well as some local retailers, like Faded Finds in the Highland Plaza.

They also sold LNM Scrunchies at the St. Thomas Craft Show.

The scrunchies cost $3 each or they are 2 for $5 at Faded Finds.
