Multiple units respond to house fire on Woodside Place in Fort Thomas, fire contained

Around 8:30 a.m. this morning, Fort Thomas emergency responders were at the scene of an active house fire in the 140 block of Woodside Place with help from Southgate and Bellevue-Dayton departments.

Fort Thomas Police closed off both sides of Memorial Parkway to ensure safety, as a fire hose was run from near Meier and Barlow Lawfirm at 2221 Memorial Parkway to the end of Woodside Place where the fire was active.

Highlands Middle School and Highlands High School sit close to Woodside Place, but police stated that there is nothing that will affect the safety of those two schools.

Police said that when they arrived on scene, there was a lot of smoke coming from the home.

Lt. Will Hunt of Fort Thomas Police said that the fire was called in at around 8:30 a.m. and that a mother and daughter were able to escape from the house, unhurt.

Firefighters are currently monitoring the situation.
