As long as Gov. Beshear does not mandate any more closures, "Watchurdog Daycare" will open as planned on April 1 at 2200 Alexandria Pike in Highland Heights, just across the street from Highland Garden Center on the corner of Renshaw Rd. The business is family-owned and operated by Missy Trauth Bauer, a former Fort Thomas resident.

Although Missy is now a Cold Spring resident, she lived in Fort Thomas for awhile while her son went to Highlands and she still has family in the area.

Missy says the doggie daycare will be taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of customers. "At this time, we plan to open as scheduled. We are postponing our open house or grand opening until after all this is over but they say that the pets are not carriers and cannot catch it and or spread it. So we will keep social distance from all the handlers with their pets as well as wear gloves when exchanging credit cards or cash."

Watchurdog Daycare is a cage free atmosphere and applications are now being accepted for April enrollment. Options include half day, full day or long day.

Daycare hours start at 6 a.m. and end at 8 p.m.
