Donate During 'Giving Tuesday Now' to Help Small Businesses Like Fort Thomas Matters

Giving Tuesday Now is a new global day of giving and unity that will take place today May 5, 2020 – in addition to the regularly scheduled Dec 1, 2020 #GivingTuesday – as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19.

Back in March when this began to unfold, Fort Thomas Matters stepped up to our advertising partners by offering them 50% off their normal rates for an entire year. This was a big leap for us, but as a small business ourselves, we know that marketing and advertising is needed, even in the midst of this pandemic.

We are in a unique position of providing a valuable service to our community without ever asking that community to pay for our product. For over ten years, we have delivered daily content for free to our readers without paywalls, subscriptions or mind-numbing pop-ups, quizzes or videos.

We are a small business, with a staff, payroll and lots of overhead that has never asked for a penny from readers. Simply, now is the time where we need you.

Please step up and show us your support by filling in that gap that has been left by our sacrifice we're making to help our businesses survive this difficult period to position themselves to thrive.

People can show their generosity in a variety of ways during #GivingTuesdayNow -- whether it’s helping a neighbor, advocating for an issue, sharing a skill, or giving to causes, every act of generosity counts. We've also created a gift card portal for some of our businesses to support them from a distance at

We all have gifts to give, and with social media, online giving, delivery, mail, and phones, there are limitless ways to use your generosity to support others.

This was a joint venture by Fort Thomas Matters and Richards & Sons Artisans owner, Scott Richard. Scott opened a new business in Fort Thomas and was ready to open for business right before this pandemic hit. All proceeds go directly to our participating businesses and when you buy $50, $10 gets donated back to a school fundraisers at Moyer, Johnson, Woodfill, St. Thomas or St. Catherine.
