In fall 2019, partners in the longtime local law firm Fessler, Schneider and Grimme announced they had received a potential buyer for their location at 14 North Grand. At the time, partner David Fessler said, "If we decide to relocate the practice, we fully intend on remaining in Fort Thomas."

Well, they did and they have. The firm sold the building and has moved to new offices just a few doors down at 20 North Grand, said partner Joe Grimme.

The firm will be leasing the office condo from owner and developer Dan Gorman. "We decided we had owned our own building long enough. Now we just want to practice law. We were ready for that change," Grimme said.

Members of the practice have been working from home since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis, but work has been limited because the courts have been closed.

“It actually couldn’t have worked better for timing for the move,” he said. He and his son had been busy clearing out and preparing for the move. The firm had been at the location in Fort Thomas for 19 years.

Fessler and partner Tim Schneider were partners for 10 years in Covington before moving to the city. Grimme joined the firm soon after they relocated to Fort Thomas.

As restrictions have been eased, employees are returning to work at the new location. In addition to the lawyers, the practice has three primary assistants and works with two more as the work is needed.

The new space has 1,750 square feet, smaller than the previous location, but now everything is on one floor. Grimme said he was eager to get things moving again.

"We really appreciate the loyalty of this town and surrounding city...We wanted to keep our ties here. It’s been such a good experience, and we know it will continue to be so," Grimme said.

Grimme and Schneider are residents of the city, and Fessler lives in nearby Bellevue. The firm practices in the areas of personal injury, criminal defense, family law, and estate planning and probate.
