Scott Budd, Newport resident and owner of Cincy Illuminations, created a “Go Green” lighting illumination presentation in Newport at One Riverfront Place on Tuesday,. The event began around 9 p.m. and lasted until midnight.

Recently, Governor Andy Beshear encouraged all Kentuckians to light their homes and businesses in green as a display of unity and commitment to defeating COVID-19.

Cincy Illuminations’ “Go Green” lighting project has enabled Newport’s Gateway to show compassion and empathy to family members and friends of those who have passed away from COVID-19 complications.

Cincy Illuminations is currently providing “Go Green” lighting at the Kenton County Government building in Covington on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday evenings at 9:00 p.m.

The “Go Green” lighting presentations are free and open to the public. Please remember to practice social distancing and wear face masks when out in public.

Additional dates for "Go Green" sites will be announced via Cincy Illumination's Facebook Page. Be sure to follow the page for the most up to date information.
