Wilder Police are now searching for a driver who led officers on a high speed chase on Tuesday night around 7:30 p.m.

Police say a Wilder police officer observed a Ford Mustang on KY-9 south driving at an extremely high rate of speed. The officer attempted to stop them but the driver continued down KY-9. Near the US-27 interchange, the officer stopped the pursuit since the driver would not stop.

Police say the license plate of the fleeing vehicle was reported stolen and officers were able to obtain images of the driver and passenger.

The suspect was driving a Ford Mustang on KY-9 South on Tuesday, July 14 around 7:30 p.m.

The car was then observed by a Fort Thomas Police officer. Two other FTPD officers on a traffic stop on I-275 West from KY-9 observed the same speeding car and attempted to stop it. The driver continued, almost striking an officer who was standing outside his vehicle.

During the event, additional officers responded to the area to assist. A Wilder Police Officer was driving on KY-9 with his sirens on and collided with a vehicle just south of the I-275 east exit ramp. Both drivers were taken to the hospital and have been released. Campbell County Police is currently investigating the collision.
