A man arrested in a SWAT situation on Pinnacle Drive on Sunday morning has been named in a statement on Facebook from Kenton County Regional SWAT (KCRS) and confirmed by the Fort Thomas Police Department.
James McAlister Thompson, 41, was arrested as the result of a search warrant around 10 a.m. on Sunday.

"After a risk assessment, we determined that (SWAT) should assist in executing the warrant.Due to prior knowledge and contact with him was the reason for high risk," said Sgt. Noe.
"After a brief standoff, Thompson exited the residence and surrendered himself to police."
Thompson was charged with the following:
- Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (<2 grams of Methamphetamine), - - Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (drug unspecified),
- Drug Paraphernalia-Buy/Possess
- Prostitution.
A class D felony in the Commonwealth of Kentucky can result in a prison sentence of at least one to five years.
Sgt. Noe said that the investigation is ongoing and more charges may be added.

Thompson was sent to the Campbell County Detention Center following his arrest by the Fort Thomas Police Department. He had a hearing for an arraignment at 8:30 a.m. today.
The second person, a woman, was initially detained at the scene but was later released with no charges per the Fort Thomas Police Department.
