The incident took place around midnight on Wednesday when police stopped a white Ford sedan at the corner of Taylor Avenue and Division Street.
When the officer approached the car, the driver fled, striking the construction area of Holy Trinity School and continuing on. Officers pursued the driver for a half a mile before it crashed near 3rd Street and Vine Street in Dayton.
When Police attempted to take the suspect into custody, the person reached into the vehicle but police quickly apprehended the suspect.
Further investigation revealed that the suspect had tossed large amounts of drugs from the car during the pursuit. Along the route, police discovered over 100 grams of suspected heroin, fentanyl, meth and pills. Cash recovered from the car totaled over $1,000 and more drugs were also found.
In total, the street value of all the drugs found is over $10,000. This is the largest known drug seizure by the Bellevue Police Department.
The investigation is ongoing. The suspect has not been identified at this time.
