Newport Central Catholic has named Brian Anderson as its new Boys Track Coach. He will be taking over the NCC Boys Track program starting in the spring of 2021.
Anderson, a 2016 Newport Central Catholic alum, ran cross country and track & field at Bellarmine University. Additionally, he served on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee while at Bellarmine. After graduating in the spring of 2020, he began working at Omega Technology as a lead coordinator.
Anderson expressed his excitement about taking over the program saying, “It has always been a dream of mine to come back and coach track and field at Newport Central Catholic. I am very thankful to Newport Central Catholic for giving me the opportunity to help young men find success and love for track & field.”
NewCath Athletic Director Jeff Schulkens said, “We are extremely excited to welcome an alum in Brian back to lead the boys track team. Brian worked hard to be the best when he played sports here and I am sure he will do the same in leading the track team."
At NewCath, Anderson was a standout quadruple threat athlete competing in cross country, soccer, basketball and track and field.
