Fort Thomas is getting its Subway back starting this week

Fort Thomas Subway. FTM file.

Opening soon. 1013 S. Fort Thomas Avenue. Ice Cream, Coffee, Cookie Dough

Fort Thomas Subway is re-opening under new management on Thursday, February 18 after being closed for nearly a year.

The sandwich chain, located at 10 N. Fort Thomas Avenue, directly across from the new One Highland development, was re-opened by franchisee Kyle Young in March of 2018. The Fort Thomas location was Young's eleventh franchisee. Previously, the franchisee before him owned the space for ten years. Subway first came to Fort Thomas in 1993.

Now franchisee, Kenny Patel will re-open the location in Fort Thomas' Central Business District with eyes on capitalizing of the franchise's past success in that location.

Patel told Fort Thomas Matters that he is a seasoned owner of Subway, having owned multiple restaurants in the area, including the location in Cold Spring on Martha Layne Collins Blvd.

"In 2010 I got my first Subway in the Northern Kentucky area. Ever since then I love being in the Subway business and just kept growing," he said. "I decided to re-open this location because I saw the potential it has and where it was at before. It is a great location, with great neighborhoods and communities that surround this location.

I heard many people are excited for this Subway to re-enter the market which makes me super excited to re-open this location."

Patel said his main emphasis will be his customers.

"They will always come first. We are here to serve them," he said. "Also, serving good quality food; making sure it is always fresh and ready to go every day. As well as, maintaining the store in every aspect, keeping it clean for customers, making sure the employees are always ready to go."

Patel said that they are still looking to make hires. He encourages folks to apply in person or online.
