New Riff Distilling announced its plans to release almost 900 bottles of a 15-year-old straight bourbon whiskey in the next few months, in order to raise funds for support relief efforts.
The distillery posted about its plans on Facebook, explaining that the profits made from sales of the bourbon will go towards the Ohio Restaurant Employee Relief Fund and The Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. New Riff hopes to give $120,000 in direct relief.
“We sprung this extremely limited bottling from our warehouse to support the bar and restaurant community that has supported us from the start,” Hannah Lowen, VP of operations/GM, says in the Facebook post. “This is how we can raise a glass — and funds — for our embattled friends.”
The bourbon being released is not your average Kentucky bourbon whiskey. The post says that each $200 bottle of bourbon is an “exceptionally rare high-rye bourbon, bottled in bond without chill filtration.”
The launch will take place at the distillery itself, located in East Newport at 24 Distillery Way. Single pours are also available at the distillery’s tasting bar, The Aquifer.
More information on how to purchase and the release date of the bourbon will be released soon, but the bourbon is expected to be available in early spring.
