McDonald’s had asked for a sign variance by the Campbell County Planning and Zoning Commission in February and is continuing with its plans to start work on the property at 3720 Alexandria Pike in April. The location, once home to a Burger King, has been empty since 2014, when McDonald’s took over the lease. Now work will be underway next month, said Penque.

IHOP is expected to finish construction and open in June. It will be located in the former PNC Bank Building behind the Longhorn Steakhouse in the shopping center near the intersection of the Crossroads Boulevard and US 27.
