The Campbell County Police Department and the Campbell County Police Merit Board presented Sergeant Nicholas Heiert with the 2020 Officer of the Year award at the April 21st Fiscal Court meeting.

2000 Memorial Parkway.

During the pandemic of 2020, and through his “Nick @ 9” Facebook show, Sergeant Heiert raised more than $30,000 for local charities, projects, veterans, businesses, and many other causes. He also lead the CCPD effort to support local Girl Scout troops, through a very successful cookie drive, resulting in the sale of 28 cases of cookies, which were distributed to elderly care homes in Campbell County and a veteran’s group.  The funds raised through these sales were ultimately used by the Girl Scouts to support water well projects in Honduras.

The Campbell County Fiscal Court released a statement, on behalf of Judge Executive, Steve Pendery.

"Sergeant Heiert's initiative and willingness to go above and beyond, as well as his untiring service to the CCPD and the community, reflects great credit upon him, the Campbell County Police Department, and the law enforcement profession.
