Highlands' Kevin Listerman wins Kentucky Boys Basketball Coach of the Year

More than a month after winning the first state championship in school history, the awards keep coming in for the Highlands Bluebirds boys basketball team.

The Louisville Courier-Journal named Head Coach Kevin Listerman the Boys Basketball Coach of the Year. Highlands finished 30-4 this year winning 21 straight on its way to the crown.

Listerman completed his eighth season as the head coach of the Bluebirds. Highlands won its first 9th Region title since 2001 on its way to the state championship. The Bluebirds scored more than 100 or more points three times this season averaging an astounding 1.27 points per possession.

Highlands senior point guard Sam Vinson made the Courier Journal's All-State First Team. Vinson is headed to Northern Kentucky University after averaging 22.3 points per game.
