At its May 3 council meeting, Wilder City Council welcomed the city’s newest full-time police officer.
Officer Carl Harris was sworn in at the meeting. Chief Chad Martin introduced the officer noting that he comes to Wilder with experience with both the Campbell County Police Department and the Fort Thomas Police Department. Harris was also named Officer of the Year in 2018.
"We are happy to have Carl. He’s a great officer, well-experienced. He will be one of those guys who is right out there taking care of our community," he said.
Harris introduced his wife Jessica and his two daughters and said he has a son attending college as well.
"I’m very happy to join the family here. Thank you," he said.

In April, Wilder city council members also congratulated Officer Micky R. Collins, who was promoted to sergeant. Many of his family members were at the meeting including his mother, brother, girlfriend and children.
After being sworn in to his sergeant position, his girlfriend pinned on his new honors.
Congratulations to both members of the Wilder Police Department.
