At their July 26 meeting, the Cold Spring city council approved a request for a zone change that will clear the way for a new Starbucks restaurant on a parcel of land near 4929 Alexandria Pike.
|Now open at 1013 S. Fort Thomas Ave.|
The plan is for the Starbucks to be a drive-thru restaurant with no outdoor seating.
The zone change would take the approximate one-acre of land from Highway Commercial* to Highway Commercial. The asterisk designation means that the zone is governed by the Unicorporated Campbell County Zoning Ordinance, which required that land parcels be larger than the size Starbucks is requesting. The change would put the restaurant under the jurisdiction of Cold Spring Ordinance.
Council also accepted the Campbell County Planning Commission staff recommendations for parking, traffic flow and other issues
Wings and Rings passes first reading
A zoning request by Wings and Rings, to be located at the intersection of Alexandria Pike and Matinee Boulevard has also passed through the first of two readings at council.

The initial plan for the site is to include the Wings and Rings restaurant with two tenant spaces. The plan will be up for final approval, a second reading at the next meeting of council.
