Campbell County resident and attorney, Erin Sizemore, traveled to Frankfort with her family and filed the necessary paperwork to run for Campbell County District Court Judge in the 17th District, 2nd Division.

She is seeking the judicial seat currently held by Judge Karen Thomas, who announced in May that she would not be seeking re-election.

Thomas was first appointed to the bench in 1996, becoming the county's first woman judge.

“After much thought, prayer, and reflection, I am honored to be running for Campbell County District Court Judge (Div. 2). The outpouring of community support for my candidacy has been overwhelming, humbling, and is greatly appreciated," said Sizemore in a release.

"As such, I will work tirelessly over the next several months to ensure the voters of Campbell County understand why I’m running for this position, and I am eager to discuss how I plan to continue to serve our community from the bench. The future is bright in Campbell County, and I look forward to working with residents in this community to continue to make that goal a reality.”

Sizemore's career in the legal field spans over a decade of criminal prosecution and trial experience, across three major jurisdictions. Most recently she served as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney in Campbell County from 2015-2021. She recently transitioned to the Hamilton County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, where she works in the Juvenile Division.

Sizemore lives in Fort Thomas with her husband, Nathaniel, and two girls.
